Hoi guys, just one simple question that will likely dictate whether I pick up Sims 4 or not.

I have the CAS demo, and spent quite some time messing about creating a whole host of Sims. Is it possible to move large numbers of them into the neighbourhood(s) and have them populate my world as 'NPC' sims, or am I only going to be able to populate one or two plots with them - and have to be responsible for keeping them happy?

    This it really. Cheers.

Here is how YOUR sims will work in Sims 4. The lot's you get is all that you get, but it's actually A LOT, just cause you can actually DELETE EVERY LOT and change it to your liking(Also you can have different saves, so everything resets, if you have A LOT of sims like 100 better start managing who can see who and what not, Lol) that goes for community too where you can switch it to a residents, bar, library, gym, etc and so on. This is the FUN part to me, where you talked about will your sims act like npc's??? Yes and No, when you put a lot of sims in both of your world maps, you can actually see them walking around time from time when you are playing another household(they can also go onto both maps if you didn't know that like you can do with a sim). An also when you see one of your sims and you talk to them with a sim you are controlling and pause and switch to the other household and pick the sim you were just talking too, you will be in that EXACT SAME spot where you are now in control of the sim you were just talking too and not the other. Yes they do take care of themselves, even when you have a active household(Their decisions actually affect your gameplay of them when you don't control certain sims at the moment and that they are not active) and you have two sims and you take one to a lot, the other sim can take care of themselves and you can click at their faded out icon picture below to tell them what to do at home when you are busy with the sim you are controlling on another lot. Also NO I don't know anything about making your sims a generated townie sim where they have no lot an such and still roam the place like Sims 2 and Sims 3 I think(Haven't played that game in years, sims 3, Lol.). My only hunch would be to move in a sim to a house then evict them and they will be in a "Managements folder", I feel that would be a good generated sims townie home should be for them to act like that, but still I don't know, have to experiment. Hope this helps you though, you can ask me anything if you still feel confused on some stuff/things. :)

Cheers, helps... I think. Basically I would like to be able to 'play' as my Sim/household, whilst having other Sims I've created populate (at least some of) the world - as households - without me having to micro-manage their lives. Sounds like that might be doable

If you're like me and just want your created sims to roam your world like non-progressive townies then turn off aging for them as well as anything else that would result in their lifestyles changing without your consent. My game is FULL of townies I all created myself, very very active days and nights.

so to answer your question, YES :) you can do that! But as Korvaz said, turn off aging on the ones you aren't playing if you want them to survive and stay the same :p

I've also heard that if your first group of townies die of old age, the ones coming in will more likely be from your library. So if you play legacy style, you won't have to keep adding in your own townies all the time. Some will pop up and surprise you.

Ooo. I might want to move some of my Sims out of my Library but keep their Tray file somewhere else.

Has anybody seen a way to figure out which tray file is which Sim?

Oh Mags! You just made me so happy and I didn't think there was another feature to find that would do that! I have to tell BurntCheese cause she was going to delete some of her over 70 sims in her library! Now I need to go and add more of your guys' sims to my library!!! Oh... Oh... /gidy!

I only have like seven sims in my library haha. I can't tell if he lives anywhere, but I saw one guy from in there at the gym.
