That's how every game in /every/ franchise is. Hell, even moderate success doesn't guarantee a subsequent title in the franchise. That said, The sims is historically the best selling franchise on any platform ever...and it is WAY too soon to be discussing the failure success of a title.

Well they develop the game. Make your product good and worth buying and people will spend their money. So listen to the fan base, what they want, and give us lots of content in the expansion and stuff packs.

So far, Sims 4 is good as a base game.

That is how I feel. I can't stand it with any game period when companies make a half-effort game, lock up stuff that is on the disc, make unlocked with paid dlc, and wonder why aren't people buying it. It's kind of how companies like Capcom went under. The consumer these days is demanding. He/she wants the best bang for him/her money, especially if it is $50/ $60.

I think it's a bit of a dramatic reaction to the negative reviews people are giving.
People are always gonna be disappointed with sim base games, especially if they've played games with multiple expansion packs installed before.

As time goes on I am 100% sure this game will do just as well as Sims 3.

I think it's a pretty standard response. As CaptainMauzer said, that's how every game is. If they don't make any money off of it they won't continue to pour money into it. It's not exactly cheap to develop games like this so why would EA (or any company) continue to put money into something that's been unsuccessful in recent times? That being said, it makes me wonder if we will ever see Simcity again...

I'll start being positive about Simcity when they introduce decent city sizes

Makes sense. It costs lots of money and takes a lot of time to develop and make a game. If people are pirating the games or simply not buying it, they lose money and that means their business starts to go under. Why waste all that energy and resources if people aren't interested, especially if they don't have it? The point of businesses is to make money. They will find other ways to bring it money. That's how businesses work.

I wouldn't worry just yet. Sims 4 just came out and many people still bought it. Same thing happened with Sims 3. I say give it some time as only time can tell what will really happen. People still need to keep in mind that is always a possibility if the current games aren't successful. Many companies went under due to lack of support and the cost of everything has only been going up the past couple of years (not just Sims games. Even food and other productions, cost of shipping, etc.....). The Economy is simply not doing so good and yet, people keep demanding more for less.
