Q:Wouldn't you love it if EA released a demo for Create-a-Sim? I definitely don't think they will, but it would be nice to tide us over, you know?

I don’t think they will, but I definitely think they should! Even just a stripped-down version with the bare basics. They really seem to be emphasizing CAS in general. Since it’s such a big selling point for TS4, it would make sense for them to release some sort of demo so people could play around with it and get pumped for the game!

Q:I'd just like to say that I like the trend of minimalism that appears to be showing in TS4. TS3 was ALL about complexity. The create-a-style feature alone was theoretically incredible but, as we all are well aware, it rendered the game bloated and overwhelming. Simpler voxels, simpler (or almost no) interfaces, and simpler functions give us room to be creative without drowning us in it. The sim design we've seen is a testament to that: not TOO human but human enough to let us connect with them.

I definitely agree. I love that the style is cartoony and vibrant and charming, yet they still managed to enhance the things that allow us to connect emotionally with Sims: animation, facial expressions, and detail. The Sims are somehow less and more realistic, in all the right ways! I think the recent trend of minimalism suits The Sims franchise very nicely, and proves to create a UI that is elegant, simple and intuitive.

Q:do you think we will be able to make sims with asymmetrical faces in TS4? i can never make a simself that really looks like me because i have a squint eye.... haha.

I don’t think so. From the demo of CAS that we’ve seen, molding one part of the face automatically molds the other side. Maybe symmetry can be disabled in the advanced editing mode or in the settings. We’ll likely see in the video tomorrow! Stay tuned!

I think it’s awesome! TS3 had way too many traits, many of which were similar. Charismatic, Schmoozer, Friendly, Social Butterfly…they aren’t the same, but they are similar. I love the idea of choosing basic traits for my Sims like Charismatic and then unlocking more complex and specific traits through my Aspiration.

I believe you choose three traits, and then are assigned a list of relevant Aspirations. Once you choose your Aspiration, you unlock a 4th trait that will help your Sim complete the Aspiration. Once it is completed, you unlock the 5th trait as a reward. I have also heard that you can choose a new Aspiration once one is completed and continue to unlock traits…so your Sims might end up with seven or even nine traits!

Have you heard anything about an exact release date yet? I preordered months ago and haven't heard anything.

for sure for those who make custom content or just plain creative, and want a more advance tool it would be great! For myself I don’t really need it but it might be nice to have around just in case I get a creative urge to create stuff!

What I think would be even supercooler would be to make this tool into an app for the mobile phones and tablets because most including myself have a cell phone and/or tablet, and it would be cool to mess around with this thing while I’m out and about, or just lying in bed.

any speculation yet regarding future expansions? My favorite sims expansions to date are Sims 1 Makin' Magic and Sims 2 Open for Business. What are yours?

Yes! There is a survey that came out on possible expansions, other content and pricing for bundles, here are the links:

This should give you some idea what they might be planning for expansions and other content but please keep in mind that this is a survey so therefore none of this is confirmed to make it into the game, but it is official.

My favorite sims expansions are:

• the Sims 1: Hot Dates, House Party and Superstar
• the Sims 2: University, Night Life, Open for Business, Bon Voyage, Apartment Life
• the Sims 3: World Adventures, Ambitions, Showtime, University Life and Island Paradise. and do like Into the Future and Late Night a little because of it being in a city type world but the clubs and bars are empty most of the time.

I’m going to post some more information on the survey. I was working on it today but got distracted with all the new updates!

Q:Is there a reason why the creators haven't announced an open world yet? Is it really possible that they could be going completely backwards and not include an open world? Hopefully we'll hear more at E3 next month, I think I speak for everyone when I say that, even though CAS this time is AMAZING, more gameplay and build mode content would be really appreciated.

It is possible the creators haven’t started worked on that part of the game or that it might not be completed yet. So they can’t talk or give details on something they haven’t finished. That is my guess!

I think you speak for a lot people who think no open world would be a complete step backward. I wouldn’t want to see the game go backward to the individual lots and load screens either.

but if the creators gave me open neighborhoods with seperate districts that sims can visit and explore or better still do what other open world video games do by divide the world into seperate cells/areas and allow your sims to free roam, and fast/silently load into the next area would work for me as well.

It is known and confirmed already that pets and seasons won’t be in the sims 4 base game.

How much do you know about what goes into being a parent on the game and pregnancy? Like are there any serious differences between sims 3 and sims 4 aside from multitasking?

THE SIMS 4 GAMEPLAY: EVERYTHING WE KNOW

We don’t know anything today about families that we didn’t know over a year ago when the game was first announced (which is nothing). That’s a slight exaggeration. We know The Sims 4 has the same life stages The Sims 3 has, children can inherit the walk style of one of their parents, we saw a picture of a child and childish Sims can play on the playground with their children as long as they’re in a happy mood. If they’re sad the option goes away.

Update: SimGuruJill specifically addressed pregnancy last year in her interview with EdenStyle.it. Thanks for the reminder Rudy.

Hopefully they’ll give us details about the game in a few weeks at E3. But I’m starting to have doubts considering even when they invite questions and offer to explain the features of the game they tell us absolutely nothing. We’ll have to wait and see.

The Sims 4 is being developed for both the PC and Mac but the fall release will be for the PC version, not sure when it will become available for the mac.

Answer: No, I don’t know anything about how the venues will work in the Sims 4 but I think it would be cool if they allowed us to enter venues like we did in the Sims 1 and Sims 2. I missed that part of the game with the Sims 3 being mostly rabbithole buildings. I think it was everborn who suggested venues, community lots, and destinations be treated as separate locations that the game enter via load screen but hopefully it will be a SILENT or FAST load that you don’t notice because it would get annoying seeing so many load screens everytime my sims visit a new location.
I also saw a bird fly by, across the Goth's house. I'd at a picture but it's very small. Try watching from 1:45 - 1:47 and look towards the left near the draped tree!

Yes, there is a bird flying pass the tree in that part of the video. So there are swans and flying birds in the Sims 4, I wonder if there are any other animals in the Sims 4. I always felt like they should include pets—dog and cats in the base game, maybe a few breeds that your sims can purchase through a pet store, while saving the whole create-a-pet features for an expansion pack.

I think that there are going to be animals in the base game if the sims 4 because i saw a duck or a swan in the river behind the goth house

Hi chevion! Open for Business was a favorite of mine too. The gurus are well aware that we’d like proper shops and a business expansion pack for The Sims 4 — we Simmers have been very vocal about that!

EA visits this site (and all of the others) almost daily and even hires a Community Manager to keep up with the Sims community. They listen to all of us. Here’s advice from a SimGuru on getting your ideas heard:

A: Sorry, about your phone, I hope you get it fixed but if you look on the blog you will see all the new stuff posted, E3 is monday, and the sims 4 will be shown during EA’s Press Conference start at 12pm PDT/3pm EDT. So we should get a ton of new information!

Also, there is a post about the release date for the Sims 4 being Sept 2nd, but we should wait for E3 where it will be offical announcement to confirm it!

Q: I think if the sims were ever going to go online, the BEST choice would be to instead of fucking up like simcity, have some sort of connection type thingy. Like if you and your friends are all in a certain distance from each other (in the same house or something.. like connected to the same wifi) then you can all play from the same family/maybe in the same town. Like you could control one sim and your friend could control the other but on different computers. I think that's a good idea

A: The Sims 4 will be single player offline but It has been mention in the sims 4 survey that online features will be include in the sims 4:

• Real-Time Co-Op Gameplay – Invite a friend into your game to play cooperatively, share a home and manage your Sims together all in one online world that continually evolves even when you’re away.

I think it’ll working something like Animal Crossing ‘New Leaf’ where you can connect to a server, and visit your friend’s town, and play the game together!

A: LOL, you’re asking me some hard questions here but let me say this first I personally don’t use cc in my game but I can tell you that there are a lot of talented creators so I wouldn’t worry too much about cc for the sims 4. It will be amazing once they start creating stuff and that bring me to your second question, I’m not sure when they will start creator stuff as I’m not a cc creator myself but I’ve been trying to communicate with people on tumblr who make cc to see if they are going to buy the game and if they are plan to make cc for it. I’m trying to gather some creators on tumblr to feature their creations on my new blog I’m planning to start after the game is release.

Your third question, is very hard to answer because I’m sorry to say am not a mac user, I start with mac years ago, my first computer was a mac and swore I would never buy a pc but I got into gaming and bought a pc. I’m planning to buy later this year an imac for stuff like graphic design and video editing, as to what mac laptop you should buy, I suggest buying the very best one you can afford. If you can afford to spend alittle extra on the graphics card and ram than do so. Don’t believe all the hype about it being able to be played on low-end computer business EA WILL HAVE YOU BELIEVE! Buy what you can afford and try to buy the upgrades for the graphic card and ram if you can afford to.

Also, let me mention this because it is important, the Sims 4 is being developed for both the mac and pc but the fall release is for the pc for now so if you buy a mac laptop you might have to wait to get the game to play it on your mac useless you’re willing to bootcamp it to play the pc version.

Q: Is there gonna be a special edition box for the mac version aswell?? I want to buy the special edition, but I have a mac, so I have to wait...

Will there still be options to try for baby and woohoo, or are they make the Sims 4 more like real life. Woohoo that is more riskier and when sim have unprotective sex they can become pregnant. So what would prevent a sims from getting pregnant if they didn’t want to? That’s a question unfortunately I can’t answer?
