BUG - No saving/building after baby aged up

I'm having some trouble.. Everything has been fine up until this second baby of mine (adopted like the first) aged up to a child.. I cannot save or go in to build/buy mode because "You cannot do this while your sim is aging up" .. I tried leaving it until the next day and it's still not letting me. I have tried ResetSim for all my sims and nothing. Really frustrating because I can play the game but not save it or change anything. I tried going back to my previous save multiple times and it does the same thing each time.

After a lot of fiddling around I tried to manually 'age up' the baby which solved my problem. Still annoying as I wanted it to happen naturally but I suppose it doesn't really make a difference. Let's hope it was a one-off.

**UPDATE: When she aged naturally in to a teen the same thing happened. Thankfully I had saved not too long before so I went back and I aged her using a cake and it's fine. Would really be nice if this got fixed**
