Wondering - Suicidal Trait?

Yeah but if they get angry or someone cheated, broke up, or divorced you I think there will be such a thing.

An emotional wreck of a sim, ending their own life by standing in a puddle of their own tears while trying to fix the something?

What about natural deaths?

They could also have a Sim so humiliated by rejection they die of a broken heart?

Death by bad Woohoo?

No more meteors, but what about aliens? They could have something go 'wrong' during one of their abductions? Oops.

As someone who actually deals with this, I play to escape. I don't need that in my game. People need to stop romanticizing something that is anything but.

No, I'm not too sure about this, its a bit of a heavy subject to put into a game such as the sims..
Yet so is the other deaths..
Either way i'd rather not have this in the game that's my personal thought.

As for the suicidal trait, I think just adding the 'unstable' trait in TS4 would be plenty.

This is like adding in the Racist trait or the Pedophile trait or the Prone to Genocide trait to the game! We play The Sims to live a life we could never live, not jump into a mirror! This is why I loathed some games overly realistic graphics! I like The Sims 4 Graphics because they are realistic yet you can tell they are fake! In real life, I could never woohoo with an entire town! In the sims, I CAN. For those who want Next Gen Graphics in The Sims 4, here's something to think about. VIDEO GAMES ARE NOT REAL LIFE. You want flowing stringy hair and picturesque graphics? GO OUTSIDE.

I have to disagree, suicide is a real issue with some people and I think having it in a game like The Sims 4 could be very triggering and dangerous. Plus I don't see anything fun about making your sim off himself. I don't think The Sims will ever have this trait, it's just too dark.

I mean, I get where people are coming from for this. Suicide makes for a good plot device if you're trying to tell a darker and more mature, dramatic story. I just want to leave it to the modders, tho.

Mhm i agree, leave it for the mods. Think about the rating though.

The Sims is not dark and mature if you could tell. If The Sims ever gets a M rating, they would use it to implement something like nudity or more adult jokes, not mature themes.

Too morbid for sims, they won't allow teen pregnancy for a similar reason; they would have to move the rating up.

No, it's difficult enough having a friend dealing with suicidal issues, I don't want it in the sims. It doesn't belong here and, like others have said, it shouldn't be romanticised or glamorised.
